M SERIES SUS304 PROTO Y040325I
While SUS303 stainless has become the most prevalent stainless used in the industry, prototype Y040325I is crafted from SUS304.
SUS304 is slightly softer than SUS303. Significantly, SUS304 has even greater corrosion resistance resulting from an additional 1% of chromium and the absence of sulphur.
Because of the comparative softness of the material, SUS304 is actually hardened by the heat of the machining process.
It takes 1.5 times (36 hours) longer than usual for the manufacturing process. Furthermore, since this design is raw finished even the most minor machining errors would prove unacceptable.
Additionally, this prototype employs brass weights inserted in the sole and toe side of the putter head.
